Auckland Transport has just launched its Plus One Companion scheme for Total Mobility (TM) card holders. For TM card holders, it means you can travel on any bus at any time and your companion doesn't need to pay.

You will still need to swipe your HOP card and you will need to have your Total Mobility card on you. You still receive your same concession rate, which is even cheaper at the moment thanks to the Government's half price public transport fare scheme.

Your companion just needs to let the bus driver know that they are your companion and the driver will issue your companion with a temporary bus ticket to cover your trip.

A companion can be anyone including, spouse, child, support worker, friend or parent. It can be a different person every time.

Please note this service only applies to buses and does not include ferries and trains at this stage. If you have any questions call AT on 09 366 6400 or contact the New Zealand Relay Services.
