A grassroots migrant collective, 'Migrants Against the Acceptable Standard of Health', is campaigning to end disability and health discrimination in Aotearoa New Zealand’s immigration system by getting rid of the Acceptable Standard of Health (ASH) requirements.
On Thursday 31 March DPA stopped administering face covering exemption cards. People who want information about, or are requesting, face mask exemption cards can now do so through the Ministry of Health.
DPA believes that a review of provision for only a subset of disabled learners will not bring about the necessary changes needed to create a truly disability inclusive education system in Aotearoa, rather we need a whole system change to make this a reality.
