With the existing Avondale Community Centre in poor condition, Te Kaunihera o Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland Council now has a project to build a new library and community hub, 'Te Hono'.

The council is seeking to involve the disabled community in the design of programmes and services to be offered when the build is complete in 2024.

They have partnered with Be.Lab to hold two forums in March to design services and programmes for Te Hono. They are looking to recruit a group of up to 20 people who can commit to two, 4-hour sessions. Transport costs will be covered, refreshments and a light lunch will be provided, and participants will receive payment for each session.
