The Waikato Community Transport Forum is hosting a transport symposium for people working in the transport, policy, and the health sector.

The symposium will bring together those who are involved in Community Transport in New Zealand; to provide a voice and articulate a vision for the sector's future.

Dr Bridget Doran will deliver the keynote speech on the topic “Speaking Up: International insights on giving voice and governance to the Community Transport sector in Aotearoa”.

Bridget is a chartered engineer and researcher with twenty years of experience in transport policy, design, community engagement, and participatory planning and has had a special interest in community transport for the last decade.

She has spent her career working closely with New Zealand’s disabled community (including the recent collaborative research project with DPA on Disabled people’s experiences of transport in Aotearoa New Zealand) and other under-served groups and is recognised as a leading researcher bridging transport and equity issues in New Zealand.
