As part of the Job Support Funds program, the Ministry of Social Development has set up transport assistance funding for essential workers with disabilities travelling to and from work during Alert Levels 3 and 4.
For those impacted by changes to public transport under the Alert Levels, the transport assistance funding can be used for services such as taxis or Driving Miss Daisy and other similar transport providers.
To apply for transport assistance you will need:
- a letter outlining your impairment or medical certificate from your doctor
- a letter from your employer stating that you are an essential worker
- to fill in the Job Support Funds application
Email these three documents to the Workbridge Support Funds team at: sfs@supportfunds.co.nz with Essential Worker as the email subject
