Waka Kotahi is carrying out research with people going through or who have recently gone through the driver licensing process in New Zealand (this includes Learner, Restricted and Full licence types).

They want help understanding what it’s like for the actual people going through the process. They know that some groups are impacted more than others and can find getting a driver licence incredibly difficult. Because of this, they are keen to talk to disabled people about their experiences with driver licensing.

They are looking to have 25 – 40 minute conversations with a wide number of people from different backgrounds. This can be in person (in the Wellington region), on a phone call, or on a video chat. The research team can be flexible and meet at times to suit you. They are also offering a Prezzy Card as koha for volunteering your time.

Please reach out to the lead researcher Jono at jono.jordan@nzta.govt.nz if you are keen to participate.

Please let him know if you have any specific access needs and note they cannot guarantee all volunteers will be interviewed.
