The Community Steering Group have asked us to share this with all in the community:

Kia ora,

We wanted to introduce ourselves to you as the Establishment Unit Communications and Engagement team as well as extend this invitation to you to receive content produced by us in the lead up to 1 July ‘go live’ of the new Ministry.

As we’re sure you are aware, a lot of work is being done behind the scenes by the establishment team to reach the 1 July ‘go live for the new “Ministry for Disabled People” (working title only) from the Minister’s announcement in October of last year. This is to invite you to our mailing list for regular email updates on our progress and relevant information – probably monthly and as needed. You can then use this content, or a version of it, for your own newsletters if you have them. Alternatively, you may wish to invite members of your organisation to subscribe directly. If this is something you would like, please reply to this email address.

[DPA has subscribed and will share any content and all available accessible formats that we receive through this newsletter, however if you wish to receive it as it comes out directly to your inbox, then please subscribe to the Establishment Unit mailing list]

We intend to provide the content in a way that is easily adapted into your newsletters if that’s the approach you would like to take. We fully understand you’ll have your own way of communicating to your audiences. We will ensure the language and content is as accessible as possible and can also provide the content in Te Reo. It would be helpful to us if you could let us know which alternative formats you require as well as if you would like a full Te Reo translation. If you would like specific help in talking to a specific demographic, e.g. youth, then please let us know that too and we’ll do our best.

We want to make sure that we are providing you with information and meaningful content to reach as many as the community as possible in the short time that we have together on this project.
We’re committed to keeping people in the loop and would welcome hearing from you at any time.

Ngā mihi

The Communications and Engagement team
