Be. Lab have developed a new Be. Leadership in Governance programme to help develop the skills required for governance roles and equip participants to be effective and successful members of boards.

The programme has been developed in partnership with the Office for Disability Issues (Whaikaha, Ministry of Disabled People) and with the support of the Institute of Directors and Governance NZ.

The free programme will consist of:

  • 5 full-day sessions over six weeks (2 in-person and 3 online)
  • presentations from, and conversations with, governance and leadership professionals on critical areas of board competence
  • discussions and workshops
  • an opportunity to be assigned a mentor.

The inaugural programme begins in October. Up to 20 places are available for disabled people who are seeking their first board role or are new to governance roles and seeking to develop their effectiveness and skills.

For more information and to apply see the Be. Leadership in Governance webpage. Applications close 2 September 2022.
