St John are establishing a new Community and Customer Council. The Council will be made up of volunteers and is designed to represent the community in a way that prioritises the delivery of better services by having an innovative and people-centred approach to the provision of health services.
Input and ideas from members of the Council will help shape the future of St John and assist in the delivery of a quality service to support a healthier, more resilient Aotearoa New Zealand.
The focus of the Council is to provide a strong and viable voice for the community and consumers on healthcare planning, quality improvement and service delivery by:
- Ensuring patient, customer, supporter, and community voices are heard by St John
- Reviewing feedback data and recommending ideas and initiatives
- Adding value and diversity of thought by being an independent champion for customers and communities
Members of the Community and Customer Council will come from varied backgrounds and areas of interest that reflect our diverse community. These may include women’s health, men’s health, children’s health, Māori, Pacific and Asian peoples’ health, rural health, older persons health, disabilities, chronic conditions, mental health and addictions and LGBTTQIA+ health.
This a volunteer role, however associated travel costs and meeting related expenses will be covered.
