Touch Compass are holding auditions for their new show Aiga (family), it is focused around the theme of identity (family) and desire. The show will be developed through a series of workshops over the next year with the production being staged in 2024.

The work will have ongoing workshops and creation periods throughout 2022 and 2023, with the final rehearsal process and premiere slated for 2024. Four multi-day workshops will be scheduled for 2022 at times convenient to the collective, once casting has been completed.

Touch Compass are looking to cast four Pasifika/Māori women or non-binary performers with a background in theatre, of any age within the range of 18 - 65. As workshops and rehearsals will be taking place in Auckland, performers must be Auckland based.

Priority will be given to performers who have a lived experience of disability; however non-disabled performers are also encouraged to apply. This is a paid position.

Aiga will use a collaborative creation approach to delve into the personal stories of having an identity at odds with the status quo of New Zealand. The themes of the work are strongly rooted in identity, aiga (family) and desire.

Please submit a resume in any form that suits you (e.g. typed, video, voice recording), and an image of yourself to producer@touchcompass.org.nz to secure an audition slot. Auditions will be held virtually and in person on 17 May 2022.
