Whaikaha - Ministry of Disabled People is advertising for an experienced Executive Assistant to join their Specialist Services Group to support the Group Manager, and work alongside the wider team of programme managers and advisors.

The Specialist Services Group takes a project and programme approach to its workplan, with a particular focus on delivering development work for the High and Complex Framework.

  • You will provide diary and email management, schedule and accept meeting invites, and make travel bookings.
  • You will assist with the monitoring and reporting of activities across the team as required.
  • You will provide administrative support to aspects of the teams activities, making sure the teams systems and processes are as efficient as possible.
  • Maintaining a calm, efficient and practical approach under pressure is essential

An opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Programme Coordinator to join Whaikaha’s Specialist Services Group to support the work alongside the wider team of programme managers, advisors, and analysts.

The Specialist Services Group takes a project and programme approach to its workplan, with a particular focus on delivering development work for the High and Complex Framework.

You will provide high quality communication and administration skills which will be vital to the delivery of multiple project activities. The role is crucial to the Group, ensuring that projects run smoothly by controlling workflow, supporting programme managers to evaluate the course of the project and reporting its status to the managers and stakeholders.

Whaikaha - Ministry of Disabled People currently have multiple opportunities nationally for Portfolio Managers.

The Portfolio Managers are responsible for negotiating and managing contracts and services, held by Whaikaha, through the promotion of quality, people-centred services.  

The key to success in these roles will be your demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including disabled people and their whānau, the disability sector, providers of disability services and other key disability sector agencies and organisations.

As part of this role you will be required to:

  • Manage a portfolio of service contracts, monitoring and supporting development toward person directed services and the Enabling Good Lives Principles
  • Develop and maintain highly effective, high quality constructive working relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders, lead the planning and development of disability services and contribute to policies and strategies
  • Manage particular projects and development work and service improvements within the portfolio
  • Monitor and support the quality and effectiveness of services including responding to critical incidents, complaints, and queries as they arise
  • Respond to Ministerial requests, OIAs, and provision of information in a timely and effective way
