Ahead of the development of the Waiariki Disability Action Plan, the Bay of Plenty and Lakes DHBs want to hear directly from disabled people - and those who care for or provide services to them - about their experience of services and supports currently offered by the DHBs.

They are keen to understand both what is working well and what needs improvement and are particularly interested in any hearing suggestions or ideas of ways the DHBs could assist in improving the lives of disabled people.

The input provided will lead to recommendations of practical actions, and will form the basis of the Waiariki Disability Action Plan. This is due to completed in February 2022.

These actions will focus on ways to effectively tailor services to the needs of disabled people and ensure more equitable access to services, and ultimately lead to improved health outcomes.
