It's that time of year again when DPA are calling for nominations for our National Executive Committee (NEC) ahead of the AGM. Nominations are called for four committee members with nominations closing on October 16.

The NEC are DPA's governance team, nominated and elected by full DPA members (members who identify as disabled).

If you are interested in sharing your knowledge and experience as part of the NEC, we encourage you to stand. Skills you may have (but are not necessary or limited to) include: indigenous rights advocacy, disabled rights advocacy, business management, finance/ accounting, governance skills and experience, legal knowledge, strategic planning, risk management, and/or strategic funding.

All current full DPA members should have received an email with a call for nominations and a nomination form. If you are a DPA member and haven't received this, please email info@dpa.org.nz and we will forward these to you.

If you are a disabled person but not a DPA member, if you become a DPA member now you will be eligible to both nominate and vote for NEC members. If you wish to nominate a disabled person who is not currently a member, they can become a member now and will be eligible for nomination.

The current National Executive Committee are:

President: Nathan Bond
President - Elect: Joanne Dacombe
Elected member: Henrietta Bollinger
Casual member: Kera Sherwood-O'Regan
Due to the resignation of Erin Gough during the year, the NEC filled a casual vacancy in line with the constitution.

At the AGM Joanne Dacombe becomes the President, and Nathan Bond becomes the Immediate Past President. Henrietta Bollinger continues their term and Kera Sherwood-O'Regan is eligible for election.

Nominations close with at 5pm on Sunday 16 October 2022.

Assuming more nominations are received than positions available, the ballot will take place in the month leading up to the AGM. The Returning Officer will announce the result at the AGM on 26 November.
