Our submission to Otago Regional Council about its Draft Annual Plan 2023-2024 reiterates how important it is to have DPA around the decision-making table on disability issues as a Disabled People’s Organisation, emphasises the need to take a disability lens to every issue, including public transport, climate change and responsiveness to civil emergencies.

The submission also recommends the new office is designed using universal design principles to so its fully accessible, and to establish an advisory group for disability issues, have disability responsiveness training for staff, and the accessibility of all council communications.
